New Parks Database

August, 2007

We've recently added a great section on nationally funded parks and refuges. We've got a complete list of all National Parks, Monuments, Wildlife Refuges, Battlefields, etc. Each park is listed with all contact information, a basic description of what the park is commemorating along with photo links to various photo albums that we feel provide interesting viewing for many of the parks. We think that you'll find this to be a valuable resource when planning your outdoor activities.

Holding your kayak paddle

May, 2007

As you probably know, one of the differences between kayaking and canoeing is the paddle that's used. When kayaking, the paddle that's used has a blade on each end of the pole. When paddling, you will be using [simultaneously] a push and a pull on the paddle......

First Major Section Launch

May, 2007

Our first major section is going to be launched in early May. This section is our database of National Parks, National Wildlife Refuges, National Forests. In this section we include a little bit of information about every Park in the US along with some photo links that we've found in our internet travels.

We think that you'll find this section to be very useful in helping you determine where you can do stuff.

First Feature Article

April, 2007

Our first feature article comes from Patrick Stafford of Grants Pass, Oregon. Patrick is a veteran writer with dozens of articles published in a wide array of magazines.

Patrick has put together an incredible feature about enjoying the outdoors when you have disabilities. This article provides contacts and resources for more information to help the disabled get out and enjoy the great outdoors. We felt that it was important to have this as our first feature article.

Outdoor Source Magazine launches blog

August 27, 2007

Outdoor Source Magazinelaunches our free WordPress blog. We will be posting and creating content in our blog at least on a weekly basis so be sure to head on over. We will be covering every topic relating to having fun outdoors.

We're looking for people interested in contributing an article or some information or something to our blog and eventually to our magazine. Head over to the Outdoor Source Blog for more information on how you can participate and help out.

We're a Go!

April 22, 2007

After several months of planning, we're finally on our way to our web launch. The Outdoor Source Magazine is [currently] a free web-based magazine covering pretty much every outdoor activity everywhere you can conceive of. Yes that's a pretty aggressive goal, but there's so much to do out there and there's no reason for people to be sitting around complaining that there's nothing to do.

We're going to start off with a few articles that we already have put together as well as some content that we have from some other web sites that we've developed in the past so we should have a fairly robust offering right off the bat. We're going to be covering hiking, backbacking, canoeing, kayaking, outdoor & nature photography, environmental issues, biking, car touring, hunting, fishing, well I think you get the point.

Once you see what we have to offer there won't be any excuse for you to not get out there and do something.

Make sure you check out our blog. That's the most updated section of the site with multiple updates every week with tips and information on all topics that we cover.
